Literature Text

The months of summer meld together
As days and nights intertwine
My thoughts meander though
Pleasant memories of the past
As my mind conjures up
Magical fantasies of the future
All the while I sit aside a smile upon my lips
Though a deepening silence grows in my chest

The gears within my head
Seek to find the light
To find the missing link
Buried amongst broken rubble
I try to unwind the ribbons of words
That suffocate my dying breath
These simple gestures and mindful pleasures
Cloud already muddy skies
To no conclusions will my conscious come
Until the faithful sun sets

A tired heart and restless mind
Keeps these thoughts from sleeping
An eager eye keen to assumptions
Helps the matter not
Back and forth this Robin flies,
Contradictory to prevailing winds
Seeking haven from its ramshackle cage
Into the arms of wealth
The only thing to set me free
An answer often denied: yes
Hmm...My mind trying to puzzle out my feelings?

Your thoughts? What do YOU think it represents? I'd love to know. Sometimes you need a second opinion when it comes to matters such as these.
