deep and imposing,
swirling with fragrant desire
you pool under my skin
like inkblots on fresh linen.
your tongue cuts
delicate shapes into my
fervent bones
with a saccharine edge
only you could posses.
dark and alluring
like the lifeblood that
pours from our pretty little veins,
you catch my breath
and steal kisses
in the dead of night.
but you’re far
from sex in a glass;
an ungodly man with
more lies than he has affairs.
i guess I’ve bruised
your ego just like you
bruised my lips.

In another universe,
I have green eyes, curly hair,
and paint smeared across all my fingers--
a war cry of artistry
instead of needlepoint scars.
The pooch of my belly
and the lumps in my thighs
might be from anything else
but the insulin I inject four times a day.
I grow up a child, not a parent,
the master of my destiny
not running away but running toward;
I'm a little bit taller
in spirit and stature,
in all the ways that matter
when darkness creeps under the door
and phantoms howl.
I shave my legs every day
instead of once every month
once every three months
once every only now and again when I feel like it
and I'm confident--

They took my blood in gallons; every last drop.
Filled my veins with memories; who knew I could survive on them.
These moments are pulsing through me, flashes taking over.
Even when my eyes are closed, they are lucid as can be.
I wonder what they needed my blood for, why the sudden exchange?
The memories are fading away now, I see blood in my eyes.
I think I'm dying…that would explain the cold.
I hear something exquisite, it's calling out my name.
This feels like home, i've been here before.
The memories are gone, theres nothing anymore.
Pure white, pure white…goodbye.

welllllll, that escalated quickly. xD this started out as a homage to a bruise but quickly turned towards darker territory. it's actually inspired by the pinot noir wines created in Burgundy, France. And the sex in a glass thing is legitimately how one guy describe the wine. If this needs a mature tag, just let me know. This was a ton of fun to write so I might just make another one.
